How can an operator att switchboard at a distance know what we do in our office?
All our staff work with a telephone system developed in-house. It is the most advanced system on the market for managing customer data and gives our operators access to all the information they need. In addition to all the data we accumulate about you it can also automatically download information from external systems, such as Outlook, staff listings and messaging systems. We also offer TrinityWeb, a web interface whereby you as our client can go in and make changes and update information and check that i is correct. Any errors or mistakes, or information that the operator is lacking, can be reported to our client manager who ensures that updating takes place. In this way we have e trus “learning system”.

How do we hook up to Kalix Tele 24?
There are different solutions depending on the service you choose. From simple call transfer via the switch network to full-scale connection of your switchboard, your calendar (MS Outlook/Notes/Lotus) and most of the leading messaging services.
Do we have to be technically connected to you?
Business Reply Basic and Business Reply Pro do not require any technical connection. If you chooses Access or Connect our experienced project managers take full responsibility for a smooth and simple connection. We guarantee the service function we have promised.
Can we connect our Outlook or Notes calendar to you?
Our add-on service Calendar Link makes it easy to connect your calendar system to our operators and our telephony system. Clients with an Outlook calendar must, however, have an Exchange server.
Can you offer an automatic service enabling the transfer of e.g. internal calls, Auto attendant?
We can offer Auto attendant as a net based service. We think that automatic services are a good service when it comes to internal calls. This means you do not have to take up time unnecessarily from operators, who can focus instead on serving your customers and other external contacts.
Can you offer IVR?

What switches can be connected to Kalix Tele 24?
Any switch can easily be connected to us. If you require a connection which makes for full Switchboard at a Distance we can offer our service Connect, which is supported by all the leading suppliers on the market - ericsson/Asstra, Nortel, Philips, Avaya, Cisco, Siemens, SAP, Alcatel and Telia Centrex, to give some examples.
Which calendar and messaging services can be connected to Kalix Tele 24?
Our Access and Connect services enable us to synchronize with most systems: Netwise, DNA, Trio Present Office, Vision 80/20, Microsoft Outlook, GroupWise and Lotus Notes.
Can you connect with Telia Centrex?
We can easily connect to this technical platform.
Are you services climate smart?
Our services are 100% climate smart. It is far less demanding on the climate to have a single software-based switch than to have thousands of smaller switches. And we have a well-developed environmental policy.

What does a switchboard operator cost?
Telemanagement, an independent consultancy company, have calculated that a full-time switchboard operator in an office costs some 520 000 SEK per annum (€57 000 /80 000 USD). Our calculations suggest that the average company can gain large-scale advantages of some 40% by going over to Kalix Tele 24. In addition to actual savings our clients also acquire shorter answer times (on average a single ring), no queues, 24-hour service and qualified operators that are always available.
What does a normal call really cost?
Clients have shown that the true cost of a call can be as high as 250 SEK (€27 / 38 USD) per call, if you include the cost of technology, calling costs and personnel. It is our firm belief that it is better to ensure that important, valuable calls do not end up in mailboxes or long queues. A competent operator with a pleasant voice all day and every day is a valuable investment.
Can one keep one’s own operator or receptionist and still use your services?
Yes – you can keep your own operator or receptionist. We can offer an excellent additional service to your own staff and manage calls for you when you have peaks, lunch, people off sick, vacation and before you open or after you close the office for the day. Dynamic overflow ensures that calls are automatically transferred to us when your switchboard is closed, when there are queues or when nobody is available to take calls.

We are open 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
Do all you operators have a north-of-Sweden accent?
Our operators are in a number of different towns and speak with a lot of different accents – part of their charm! They are all professional communicators and all of them have a diploma from our KAlix tele 24 Academy. We speak Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish and, of course, business English.
Can you take over our operators?
Yes, we have a concept called Competence Transfer – a gentlre transition to a new, more efficient management of incoming calls. Competence Trannsfer means that together we look to fins an optimal Switchboard at a Distance solution and then take over your staff, providing them with the same terms of contarct as they have today. You no longer have responsibility for manging your staff, and sign a contract instead for our Switchboard at a Distance service.
THE COMPANY
Who owns Kalix Tele 24?
Since January 2005 Kalix Tele24 has been owned by our CEO, Kristian Rothoff and his family via the holding company Växtverk AB. Prior to that the company was owned by Telenor AS.
How old is Kalix Tele 24?
Kalix Tele24 was founded in Kalix 1992. Since then the company has grown and is now represented in six places in Scandinavia – Kalix, Haparanda, Gällivare, Stockholm and Gothenburg in Sweden, Oslo in Norway and Kemi in Finland. Annual revenue is some 110 m SEK (€12.2 million/17 million USD), with a steady commercial base to stand on.
In which countries do you operate, and which languages do you speak?
We are currently connected to the national networks in Sweden, Norway and Finland. We can also manage calls from Denmark and any calls in English. We are also able to offer pan-Scandinavian fully integrated solutions whereby, for example, a Nordic group of companies can share the same switchboard solution and calls are all local.
You call you service Switchboard at a Distance – is this just another name for an answering service?
There is no commonly accepted term for the services we offer. Other companies talk about answering services, call-minding or tele-reply. We have chosen the term Switchboard at a Distance because this clearly defines what we offer – professional telephone operators, who are the core of our outsourcing concept.
TRAINING AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
How do you train you operators?
All our operators are trained at the Kalix Tele 24 Academy, with a qualified training course in two stages leading to the Qualified Operator Certificate followed by the Qualified Senior Operator Certificate. In order to develop each operator and make full use of the competence we recruit to the company we believe in continuous training and development. This is provided in the form of courses and encouragement, and there is ample opportunity for advancement via internal recruitment, as all positions that become vacant are advertised internally.
How do you look after you staff and ensure their health and well-being?
In 2006 Kalix Tele24 became a health certified workplace. This was achieved by providing a supportive environment for employees’ health and a work environment that encourages employees to make healthy choices in their life-style. The health certification focuses on health promoting measures both at an individual and at group level, in close cooperation with Korpen sport association, the Swedish National Institute of Public Health and the Heart-Lung Foundation. In 2009 we received further evidence that our health-focus is top-of-class, when Korpen sport association voted us Healthy Company of the Year for 2008. Our success continues. In February 2010 Kalix Tele 24 was awarded the Grand Work Environment Award 2009 in a competition for Sweden’s best work environment.
