6 May 2011 – 7 out of 10 want a law making hands-free compulsory in cars

7 out of 10 want a law making handws-free compulsory in cars
Kalix Tele 24 has just carried out research into Swedes’ attitudes to various aspects of telephony. The report shows that 71% of Swedes want to bring in a law making it compulsory for anyone driving a car to use hands-free. 51% actually want to go further than that, and completely ban the use of mobile phones for all calls and for text messaging while driving. However, 41% admit that they have themselves sent a text message or e-mail while driving.

– It seems as though Swedes are pretty aware, and see the risks with using a mobile phone when driving,  Kristian Rothoff, CEO at Kalix Tele 24, comments. Our research shows that Swedes want some sort of regulation on the use of mobile phones when driving. But there is a fairly large difference between those who want to bring in a law about the use of hands-free compared with those who want a complete ban on the use of mobile phones. We can also see that there is more support for a total ban the older the respondents.

The research was carried out for Kalix Tele 24 by CQ Marketing Research between 30 March and 4 April 2011. 1000 people took part in the research.

2 May 2011 - Kalix Tele 24 one operator lighter

Kalix Tele 24 has worked actively over the years for a good working environment. In 2010 we were awarded the Grand Work Environment Award in a nationwide competition. The company’s health focus has inspired many companies and organizations to pay us a study visit - Dustin, MedHelp and the councils of Luleå and Piteå municipalities, to name but a few. Kalix Tele 24 continue to improve the work environment and the health of our staff.

At the end of January 2011 Kalix Tele 24 initiated a voluntary weight watching program together with Helex, a health center with physiotherapy, company health programs and wellness. The program includes nutrition replacement, BIA- measurements, lectures and access to a dietician. For 17 weeks the participants have had regular coaching to achieve improved health and to maintain their goal once it has been reached.

Our personnel manager Johan Rosenqvist says  – We offer this program following a decision together with staff representatives to make weight reduction one of our targets for 2011. The goal with these activities is to increase the participants’ wellbeing and contribute to their work enjoyment.

A total of 12 people joined the program and after the first half they are an operator lighter, having lost a total of 75 kilos. One of the participants is Anders Nilsson, who has lost 8.5 kilos. I like the program because it is not just about dieting, with a risk that we will then go back to our original weight, he says:  – it is based on our changing our habits when it comes to what we eat, in particular sweet foods, and exercise.

18 April 2011 - Routines that make Kalix Tele 24 a more secure call center company

Johan Rosenqvist, our personnel manager, was interviewed recently by the magazine Du & Jag (You & I) about what routines make the company a more secure call center.

– Check lists, meetings, measurements are just some of the methods that workplaces can use to improve their work environment. But the most important thing is that both management and staff are in agreement. The employer, the safety representative and the unions must all have the same vision and agree on what the organization wants to focus on, and on which processes absolutely must work,  he says.

He gives the following three tips to managers who want to improve their work environment;
1. Be methodical when setting up you program.
2. See that both management and staff representatives are in agreement.
3. And do some benchmarking – see what solutions other companies have found and adapt them to your own situation.

7 February 2011 - Nordea visit Kalix Tele24

In January we received a visit from Eva Borgström Carrick, HR Partner Nordic Banking, together with two group managers from Nordea’s customer center and two representatives from The Financial Sector Union. The reason for their visit: to find out more about Kalix Tele24’s health program, which Johan Rosenqvist from Kalix Tele24 talked about.

– Nordea’s personnel focus is currently on health, so they wanted to learn more about our health program,  Johan Rosenqvist says. We discovered that we both have much the same sort of program and I think it is very likely that we shall see more of each other during 2011. We both have the same urge and genuine will to achieve high quality and standard in our personnel management.

20  January 2011 – Infratek outsource their switchboard to Kalix Tele24

Kalix Tele24 have taken over the switchboard management for Infratek, one of Scandinavia’s leading suppliers when it comes to building, running and maintaining critical infrastructure. The project covers all Infratek’s offices in Sweden, Finland and Norway. The project has been in progress for a year now and results are very positive. Infratek’s customers and staff have better service and the company can see large savings.

– We can already see that we shall be making savings of over 1 million SEK thanks to this cooperation with Kalix Tele24, Infratek’s purchasing coordinator, Dag Erik Hermansen, says. A further benefit is that we now have the same mobile switchboard for the whole of Scandinavia, which gives us the same approach to our customers whether they are in Sweden, Finland or Norway.

20 December 2010 – Kalix Tele24 save Christmas for Kjell and Company

Kalix Tele24 have initiated a project with home electronics chain Kjell & Company. Kalix Tele 24provide answering services for the company’s head office and contact center, who receive thousands of customer calls. The purpose is to offload some of the flow when it is particularly intensive, as it is for example during December.

Kjell & Company are one of Sweden’s fastest growing retail chains. In the space of five years their revenue has gone up from 122 to 540 million SEK, and the number of retail outlets from 14 to 53. This growth makes increasing demands on their contact center, and at times the call load is very high. To handle this the home electronics chain wanted a Switchboard at a Distance solution. The idea is to cut the top of the incoming telephone traffic and ensure that all their customers who call in get the help they need.

One of the periods of the year when Kjell & Company have a particularly high call load is in December. Many customers call in and have questions about products they have seen on the web and in their catalogue. Competition is very sharp in the field of home electronics so it is all the more important to catch every single customer who calls. Every call is a potential order and in the Christmas rush it is easy for a customer to leave one supplier for another if they do not get a quick answer to their call.

– In December we have almost double the amount of calls compared with the rest of the year, Thomas Keiffer, CEO at Kjell & Company, tells us. So it is vital that we pick up every single call. With Kalix Tele24 as our partner we ensure good service for our customers.

14 December 2010 – Dagens Industri writes about

Kalix Tele24

Camilla Andersson, a journalist at Dagens Industri, wrote an article in December about Kalix Tele24 and our health program
The article describes how we budget for and work with a motivation group, who have the task of motivating the employees to a more active lifestyle, even at work. Our personnel manager Johan Rosenqvist says it is not just about how much one goes to the gym.

– It is about having and using height-adjustable desks, recruiting the right people, having a management that is focused on health, performance reviews, on making rounds to check on security, and on health checks, he says. Kalix Tele24 has a policy of never saying no. If you have an idea – it could be for an individual training plan or diet or for an ergonomic product – we do not say no. Everything should be here. The more we invest in work environment the more we get out of it.

6 December 2010 – a Christmas present

In Sweden we are a country of bounty. There are others less fortunate who are in desperate need of things we take for granted – water, food, medicine, the right to go to school, etc. Our children are most precious treasure, and Kalix Tele24 have chosen to provide schoolbooks, vaccine and food to a whole class via UNICEF and United Nations.

12 October 2010 – Chemists Hjärtat choose Connect

Earlier this year the chemists Hjärtat signed an agreement with Kalix Tele24. The agreement started with the service Business Reply Pro, but as of September this has been upgraded to a Connect service.

Hjärtat offer a customer service whereby trained pharmacists answer questions about the chemists, their products and medicines, counselling and stock status by phone, e-mail and chat. Kalix Tele24 helps with calls when the call load is high and connects them to a pharmacist.

– We are both proud and pleased that Hjärtat have chosen Kalix Tele24 as a supplier of answering services. By choosing Kalix Tele24 Hjärtat have access to a professional operator function that guarantees that both consumers and suppliers are welcomed in the best possible way when contacting Hjärtat. Being accessible and answering quickly are extremely important to Hjärtat, Magnus Palm, Key Account Manager at Kalix Tele 24 tells us. We are pleased that Kalix Tele24 can be part of this process.

Hjärtat chemists is the largest independent chain of chemists in Sweden, with more than 200 outlets and 2000 staff, who, together with their customers, hope to develop the chemists of tomorrow. Hjärtat’s ambition is to give every single customer better health and wellbeing with a broader range of both products and services. Hjärtat plan to open a further 100 outlets in the next few years. Their turnover is some 7 billion SEK.
